Security forces under the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested five suspected kidnappers during a security operation in Borno State.
According to information released by the military, the operation was launched after troops received credible intelligence about the activities of a criminal group operating along a known route in Magumeri Local Government Area.
During the raid, security personnel successfully apprehended five individuals believed to be involved in kidnapping activities and other crimes affecting residents within the area.
Troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, several magazines, and ammunition from the suspects during the operation.
Preliminary findings reportedly linked the arrested individuals to kidnapping and other criminal activities carried out in parts of Borno State.
The suspects have since been taken into custody and are assisting security agencies with ongoing investigations aimed at identifying and arresting other members of the criminal network.
Authorities say efforts are continuing to dismantle the syndicate and strengthen security across affected communities in the state.
As insecurity remains a major concern in some parts of the North-East, security agencies have encouraged members of the public to continue providing useful information that could help prevent criminal activities and support ongoing operations.
